Maintenance Careers:

Maintenance Technician needed for 1st shift working 6am-2:30pm plus overtime as needed in the Benton Harbor area. Responsibilities will include assisting in developing and carrying out all preventative maintenance programs, diagnosing mechanical problems and determine how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair manuals and parts catalogs as necessary. Inspect, operate and test machinery and equipment in order to diagnose machine malfunctions. Must be able to read electrical schematics and ladder logic, troubleshoot electrical control circuits, repair and maintain all electrical systems and hydraulic and pneumatic systems. Repair gas fired and electrical furnaces, transformers, buss bars, water tower, pumps and compressors. Repair/Rebuild all parts of Die Cast Machines, gear reduction, forklifts, water cooling systems and plant air systems. Participate in the purchase of new materials and supplies, such as tools, equipment and replacement parts for work activities. Coordinate and oversee outside service people, contractors and technicians, maintain records pertaining to facility maintenance, equipment and tools. Ensure MIOSHA requirements are met during any maintenance activity, assemble, install and/or repair wiring, electrical and electronic components, pipe systems and plumbing, machinery and equipment. Arc and MIG weld as needed and repair PLC hardware for Die Cast and other plant equipment. This position requires 3 years of applicable plant maintenance experience, successful completion of an apprentice program and a High School Diploma or GED. Technical school training in machining or tooling technology and vocational/technical training is desired. Wage is $20.00/hr. Maintenance/Electrician working 1st shift 6:00am-2:30pm Monday-Friday with overtime as needed in Niles, MI. This position will be responsible for performing skilled level electrical work in the installation, alteration, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems, equipment, and fixtures in accordance with standards practice of the electrical trades. Will also provide emergency/unscheduled repairs on production equipment during production and performing scheduled maintenance repairs on production equipment at scheduled intervals. Will perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of tools and machinery, perform minor electrical maintenance to include but not be limited to replacement or repair of fixtures (e.g. wall switches and outlets, incandescent and fluorescent bulbs and tubes, ballast, sockets, fuses, minor appliances, cords using appropriate hand, power and specialty tools and troubleshooting DC motors, 3-phase motors, variable speed drives and controls, heavy industrial wiring, pneumatics, hydraulics, over-head cranes, forklifts and hoists. Will perform minor plumbing maintenance (e.g. replacement or repair of leaks in drains and faucets, unclogging of drains, trenching and laying new lines, replacing drain hoses on washers and similar devices) and minor painting, carpentry and masonry work (e.g. preparing surfaces and using brush, sprayer, or roller to apply paints, stains, and varnishes, hanging doors, fitting locks and handles). Must have previous experience, be a qualified or apprentice electrician, mechanic, hydraulics technician, or pneumatics technician, possess a valid driver’s license, have reliable transportation, and a high school diploma or GED. The Maintenance Technician position in New Carlisle is responsible for performing routine maintenance on paint line ovens, high temperature-hot water (HTHW) systems, wastewater treatment and auxiliary equipment including but not limited to inspections, installations, removal, lubrication, cleaning, and related functions as required to support the production process. Troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing mechanical and electrical malfunctions and breakdowns. Communicating and working with other maintenance and production personnel to accomplish all maintenance and repair tasks in a timely and safe manner. Reviewing and inspecting any repairs or modifications made to equipment performed by others. Maintaining accurate and timely written records to communicate maintenance and repair activities to other shifts and the Maintenance Manager. Sending source documents to the front office to comply with State and Federal recordkeeping. Performing roll grinding to eliminate defects in paint rolls. Performing other maintenance, repair, and related tasks as directed by Maintenance Manager. Perform all duties while maintaining compliance with regulatory safety requirements, e.g., OSHA Implementing preventative maintenance schedule on all equipment and systems, so that malfunctions and breakdowns are minimized. Ordering supplies and maintaining inventory of parts for equipment in a cost efficient manner. Contacting licensed contractors or inspectors as necessary to maintain and repair paint line equipment.
