Works with production in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, robotic and electrical machine related issues. Installs, and maintains manufacturing machinery and equipment. Performs light to medium duty maintenance, interior as well as exterior, on building and company property. Operates in compliance with government and OSHA regulations regarding safety.
- Experience with 480 volt 3-phase electrical systems, hydraulics, pneumatic, and PLC programming (Allen- Bradley and Crouzet)
- Must be computer iterate and proficient with Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel and outlook
- Must be able to communicate and interface effectively with all levels of plant personnel
- Follows up on needs of the production floor with breakdown issues and expedites corrective actions through direct repair, requisition of components and/or scheduling service technicians through supervisor if needed
- Performs preventive maintenance on production equipment, buildings and building equipment to ensure minimal unplanned production downtime and safe work environment
- Be willing to operate equipment when needed to keep production flowing

Maintenance Mechanic – 2nd Shift (Will train on 1st shift for 6 months)

- This position is responsible for activities associated with the maintenance of all facility operations. A maintenance mechanic must demonstrate the ability to maintain and repair a variety of machinery such as roll form, cut-off presses, conveyors, packaging equipment, air compressors, pneumatic and hydraulic equipment, hand tools and building equipment. In addition, a mechanic must fabricate parts from drawings, sketches or verbal instructions.
- Maintain all work areas and equipment in a clean and orderly condition at all times
- Repair damaged mechanisms, replace worn or defective parts, and adjust assemblies for proper operations
- Install or assist other maintenance personnel in the installation of all manufacturing equipment
- Demonstrate high degree of knowledge in fittings, bearings, gears, shafts, machined parts and lubrication
- Troubleshoot and maintain hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems
- Safely utilize machine shop and welding equipment
- Lead or assist in roll form, die setup and changeover procedures
- Perform inspections of cut-off presses, air compressors, printing and labeling equipment and other auxiliary equipment
- Perform basic machine preventive maintenance on presses and other auxiliary equipment
- Follow standard operating procedures for inventory management and CMMS activity
- Maintain all work areas and equipment in a clean and orderly condition at all time
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum 1-3 years of experience in and industrial maintenance position
- Ability to read complex drawings and fabricate appropriate parts
- Understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Familiarity with machine shop safety and equipment operations
This position is with a local Benton Harbor company. Clean work environment and good benefits when perm hired. 2nd shift position from 3:00pm-1:00am Monday-Thursday while in training for 6 months from 6:00am – 4:00pm Monday-Thursday.
